# Tenant portal

> What tenants see in the portal, how reports become tasks, and how you invite tenants from mory and share documents.

The tenant portal (**Mieterportal**) is the external view of mory for your tenants. They see their tenancy, shared documents and the status of their reports. This page shows what tenants see and how you set up access from within mory.

## What tenants see

| Area                | Content                                                                                                                                          |
| ------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Tenancy overview | Unit, address, start of the tenancy and the key contract data |
| Responsible manager | Name and contact details of the property manager responsible for the property (**Liegenschaft**) |
| Documents | All documents you have shared for the tenant portal from the document database (**Datenbank**), for example the lease, house rules or statements |
| Reports | The reports created by the tenant with the current status of the related task (**Aufgabe**) |

Tenants only see data about their own tenancy. Internal comments, costs and contractor communication remain hidden.

## Reports become tasks

When a tenant submits a report in the portal, for example a damage, mory automatically creates a task. The field **Quelle** (Source) under **Details** shows "tenant portal". Contact, property and unit (**Einheit**) are already set because the tenant is logged in. The task then follows the usual checklist.

In the portal, the tenant sees whether the report is new, in progress or completed. Direct replies to the tenant are still sent from the task by email or WhatsApp.

## Inviting tenants

The invitation is sent from mory via the person page.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the person">
    Go to **Bewirtschaftung › Personen** (Management › People) and open the tenant. The person must be a party in a tenancy on a unit.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Portal section in the sidebar">
    In the right sidebar, switch to the **Portal** section. It shows the current status of the tenant portal access.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the invitation">
    Trigger the invitation to the tenant portal. The tenant receives an email with access details. An email address must be on file.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the status">
    In the **Personen** list, the tenant portal status column shows **Eingeladen** (Invited) once the invitation has been sent and **Aktiv** (Active) after the tenant has signed in for the first time.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  On the person page you can copy the **Person-ID**. It helps when contacting support if an invitation does not arrive.
</Tip>

### Person or company as tenant

In mory, a tenant can be a person or a company (**Unternehmen**). If a company is the tenant, invite the contact person recorded for the company.

## Sharing documents

Documents are shared for the tenant portal individually in the document database. Only shared documents are visible in the portal. See [Sharing documents with tenants or owners](/en/documents/share-portals) for instructions.
